Realbase Ltd, better known for their property management software, Palace, recently announced the appointment of Michael Abbott as CEO. Michael has stepped into the role after spending 10 years in the marketing and business development role for Palace software. His background includes publishing of the property management industry magazine PM2, as well as helping launch the cloud-based version of Palace in 2009. Based in New Zealand, Michael will work closely with the board to oversee the expansion of Palace into Australia, and the launch of a new cloud-solution in 2015. Michael takes over from his father, Ron Abbott who will continue in a consultancy role for the company he founded.

"We have a growing team of motivated people and we're looking forward to achieving some significant milestones in the coming year", Michael says. “With customers throughout New Zealand and Australia and staff based in both countries, revenue for the company has been steadily rising over the last 12 months.”
Michael’s brother Duncan Abbott, who continues to head the development team, has been elevated to the position of Chairman of the Board. He has served on the board for a number of years and has an exceptionally broad understanding of the property management landscape as he leads the development team through a fourth iteration of the company's software. "We're well placed to lead our team into the next stage of growth," says Duncan. "We have a wide range of customers who have helped us understand their specific requirements and we'll be putting that knowledge to good use". Mandy Grainger continues as head of operations. Her team has grown to 11 over the last year with plans to add more support staff in the first quarter of 2015.

Palace is used by property management companies to manage the financial aspects of their business with its beautifully designed software, which allows them to do more than just perform trust accounting and property management tasks. Also, with Palace’s mobile app they can conduct video inspections, create inspection reports and initiate works orders. Similarly, if they need to look up their owner, property, tenant or creditor details while they are out of the office, that's no problem either. They can also get an up-to-date analysis of their business with KPI reports, graphs and comparisons which help them to focus on growing their rent roll.
