Second chance for NCEA teens

Thousands of teenagers across the Bay of Plenty breathed a sigh of relief with NCEA results being released last week. For many of these teens it’s the first step towards bright and rewarding careers.

Bay of Plenty Polytechnic is already seeing an increase in enrolments and is gearing up to help the next generation of learners get on their way to tertiary study in 2015 – including a pop-up information centre at Mount Maunganui’s popular Bayfair Shopping Centre.

The Polytechnic delivers a wide range of degrees, diplomas and certificates across all levels with a focus on hands-on delivery and job outcomes. Renowned for their creative, marine & environment, sport & recreation, and suite of engineering programmes, the Polytechnic also offers a range of trades, business, computing, education and horticulture programmes.

For those secondary students who didn’t quite get the results they were hoping for, the Polytechnic is on hand to help out too.

The Certificate in Foundation Studies (Level 4) is designed to pathway students directly into a degree or diploma of their choice. Studied over 17 weeks the course ensures that students are ready to catch up to their peers in semester two.

With programmes starting from February through to March, students thinking about studying in 2015 need to get their applications in fast as places are filling quickly.
