Innovative New Travel Insurance Assistance App From Worldcare

The innovative and ground-breaking team at Worldcare Travel Insurance have created an App which is available to all policy holders when they purchase travel insurance online at http://www.worldcare.co.nz . Essentially, the App provides the following features:

  • The traveller’s insurance details, including policy type, policy benefits and dates are located on the App
  • Call the 24/7 emergency number at the touch of a button
  • The App is linked with the Safe Traveller website, this means that the traveller will always have up to date information on the status of the country they are travelling to
  • Push notifications means that Worldcare can send helpful information and advice to customers travelling in regions affected by events such as the ash clouds or big storms
  • FAQ sections, answering the most frequently asked traveller questions
  • The claims sections assists customers who need to make a claim, including advice, contact numbers and a claim form request

Upon download of the App the traveller gets a login screen where they enter their policy number and a unique PIN number provided in the email. The App allows users to quickly and easily access information and details about their travel cover. The mobile App is designed to work on all mobile devices that can access the internet. All users need to do is to make sure they save the home page to the home screen of their device where it will always be available.

Once entered the App gathers the travellers’ details and displays the Home screen.  The ‘Emergency Numbers’ button provides the virtual emergency card with how to contact the medical assistance department. The ‘Policy Details’ button has downloaded the trip details and gives a ready reference for the traveller.  This page can also have the policy benefits list.  At the base of this page is a ‘New Trip’ button, which allows the traveller to enter a new trip policy number and PIN to receive the details of the next trip. The ‘Notifications’ page provides up to date information on high and extreme risk countries. Worldcare can also send push notifications where necessary, providing advice and information to customers who are in regions where an event is occurring e.g. ash cloud or storms.
