Back in the dark ages there were actually people who chose to travel, free as birds, without ever thinking about taking out travel insurance but, let’s face it, you would have to have rocks in your head to do that today. Taking out comprehensive travel insurance is as important as buying your airline ticket and it is also just as important to choose wisely when contemplating which travel insurance company to select which is where Worldcare Travel Insurance comes in.

We all need to know that we will be fully covered when, for instance, we experience a serious medical emergency in a foreign country, and the last thing we need is to be tripped up by the ubiquitous fine print. This is why it is good to know that travel insurers are to become more transparent, operating under a tougher industry-regulated code. The Insurance Council of New Zealand has announced a new Fair Insurance Code that its members will need to start complying with by January 1 next year. This means that insurers will need to "act reasonably" when faced with the non-disclosure of relevant information by their customers.

This is where the obvious advantages of picking a travel insurance company like Worldcare comes in. Worldcare already have a comprehensive policy for dealing with pre-existing medical conditions offering an assessment tool online, meaning customers don’t need to fill in a medical form or visit a doctor to get their condition assessed. Healix is an assessment tool which provides Worldcare with the means to accurately and efficiently underwrite the increased risk presented by customers with pre-existing medical conditions, at the point of sale. Designed to be fully integrated into existing on-line sales processes, or seamlessly incorporated into call centre sales processes, this new system provides a fully automated medical risk assessment and rating service which can be completed in just a few minutes. The customer is able to self-declare health conditions on the phone or on-line, without having to make a separate phone call to underwriters or wait for doctors’ reports.

This new assessment tool is able to give an accurate assessment of increased risk within minutes, where the customer’s record of conditions is declared and conditions excluded, and a medical dictionary prompts users on names and spellings of medical terms.

This is all part of the on-going service provided by Worldcare, along with the fact that in case of emergency, they are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and their emergency assistance is carried out by the world’s leading medical assistance company, Allianz Global Assistance.
