Bracken, a brand of local Dunedin edu-tech company The Tarn Group Ltd (formally Siliconcoach), was selected by the Local Organsing Committee (LOC) to create interactive volunteer training for the FIFA U20 World Cup hosted by New Zealand this year. The online training sessions have been rolled out to 2,000+ volunteers, with users able to login via the FIFA U20 World Cup Volunteer portal, and with all results generated in Bracken integrated back into the FIFA volunteer database.
Covering a range of areas from safety to catering, the outcome was a persuasive training system to train FIFA volunteers for specific roles. It has been met with wide success due to the fact that the modules are hosted in an online platform and provide volunteers with differing schedules the chance to undertake training “anywhere and anytime.”
Used by 34 organisations throughout New Zealand, Bracken is building itself a solid reputation in the educational and corporate sectors for creating interactive lessons that encourage users to engage with, rather than ignore, information.
The LOC’s representative, Anna Duncan, had the complex job of finding a way to deliver mass amounts of content quickly and efficiently to a very large audience across the country.
Anna found this solution in Bracken’s online learning platform, stating “The team at Bracken were able to turn the content we had in training manuals into interactive, interesting modules that the volunteers engaged with straightaway. They stuck to our tight deadlines and were flexible with last minute requests.”
She worked in conjunction with the staff at Bracken to develop modules that fit the bill for content dispersion, and was supported in a responsive manner throughout the process.
