Last minute drama for leading offroad racer Nevil Basalaj ahead of this weekend's Greg Winn Contracting/Hire Now Ruf'n'Tuf 250.

Basalaj has been working in Papua New Guinea and his flights back have been delayed, meaning he will only arrive back in Nelson a matter of hours before the enduro is due to start.

Race organisers can allow him late scrutineering and the chance to do a qualifyingb sprint at their discretion, meaning the current unlimited-class points leader can still maximise his championship chances with a top result provided there are no further delays to his flights.

The Nelson race is the fifth round of the 2015 ENZED Offroad Racing Championship and starts at 11.00 am in the hancock Forest near Divedale, southwest of Nelson.
