Height Safety Courses At Actsafety

ACT Safety Ltd pride themselves in being able to provide training to ensure competency for people to work at height safely. Trainees undertaking this training will gain knowledge to enable them to work safely at height. The training comprises of both theory and practical activities and the course covers requirements under the Health and Safety in Employment (HSE) Act 1992 and HSE Regulations 1995 and Best Practice Guidelines for Working at Height.

Unit Standards: US 23229 Use a safety harness for personal fall prevention when working at height (prerequisite for 15757) Level 3 Credits 4. US 15757 Use, install and disestablish proprietary fall arrest systems when working at height Level 3 Credits 4. Trainees will receive instruction in how to identify hazards associated with the wearing of a safety harness and associated equipment, identify the different parts of a safety harness and how to check for faults associated with a harness and associated equipment, fit a harness in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions, use a safety harness where a fall hazard exists at height and implement a rescue plan in the event of a fall from height.

 ACT Safety Health & Safety courses cover the basic requirements for all safety representatives, supervisors and managers, and companies wishing to improve their overall health and safety and up-skill their workforce use these courses as the foundation building blocks. Trainees gain an understanding of the legislation; reinforce organisations’ safety practises and procedures, identify hazards, carry out risk assessment, develop control measures and monitor control measures for effectiveness. ACT Safety recommend using company documentation i.e. hazard id forms, risk assessments, incident reports, warning cards and they like to give the participants practice on completing the systems that they will be using back in the workplace.

Not only do they train to a very high standard but they teach their trainees to find route cause and instigate preventive measures. Their trainers have many years’ experience with incident investigations on the front line so they know the pitfalls and ways to overcome them. This training covers the legal requirements and completion of Worksafe New Zealand documentation, scene investigations, data collection and interviewing techniques. It gives the trainees a systematic approach to investigating incidents, enabling the root causes to be identified and develop smarter corrective actions. During courses completed in house trainees complete their own company documentation, including incident investigation reporting and recording. ACT Safety Ltd also offer an Independent Incident Investigation Service where they assist businesses in the investigation of incidents or accidents.
