A new era has been ushered in for the New Zealand UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) industry, with the UAVNZ board (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle New Zealand) having held its first AGM. Linda Bulk, a Co-Director of Aeronavics LTD (pictured) was elected to the UAVNZ Executive Committee.  “We’re all set to connect, promote, and support the commercial UAV industry into the future,” says Linda.

Since 2010, Aeronavics Ltd has been as a world-leading designer and manufacturer of UAV’s.  Aeronavics Ltd provide their products to a worldwide audience, servicing the growing market in aerial robotic systems for aerial photography, filmmaking, professional cinematography and service sector applications. As world-leaders in this technology, Aeronavics Ltd  [linda]  understands the importance of safe and reliable products. “New Zealand companies selling commercial UAV products and services need to have a reputation for professionalism, integrity and reliability,” says Linda.

The UAVNZ aims to maximize the benefits from UAV technologies and develop a world-class industry in New Zealand. Linda will be part of a team who will connect suppliers and customers, promote UAV companies and services, and support companies by engaging with the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand (CAA) and the wider aviation industry.

Promoting the benefits of UAV technology in safe and professional operating practices is a key aspect to the UAVNZ. Leading the national conversation about safe operating practices, and social and economic opportunities associated with UAV technology will be primary goals for UAVNZ. “We will be educating and foster future generations of unmanned aviators,” says Linda. By enforcing compliance and regulation within this industry, the UAVNZ will build confidence and reliability among all industry stakeholders and the general public.

The UAVNZ aims to create a community, with core values focusing on collaboration, open dialogue, knowledge sharing, and cooperation. As the UAV industry continues to grow within NZ, so too will the UAVNZ.  “Thank you to everyone who has supported and joined UAVNZ. We now have over 50 members and are very focused on delivering value for their benefit,” adds Linda.
