Designer Wardrobe was founded in 2013 by Donielle Brooke and was originally a Facebook group for swapping pre-loved designer clothing among friends. What started organically was within a matter of months a community of 1000’s of active members and Donielle saw that this needed to have its own platform.

The team then grew to 2 with the addition of Aidan Bartlett, and after months of bootstrapping funds together from their dayjobs the first version of http://www.designerwardrobe.co.nz was launched in May 2014. The website offered a vastly improved experience for members to trade items with each other while having a social experience.

After being accepted into the Lightning Lab business accelerator in early 2015, the team expanded to 3 with the addition of Jarrad Salmon driving the web development.

Designer Wardrobe’s newest service is “DW Valet” which is a service that makes it effortless to sell - members are able to simply request a free pre-paid shipping kit and get the item picked up by a DW shipping partner. The team then manages the entire process on behalf of the seller.

DW are also in the middle of building an iPhone app which will be released shortly.
