HOSPITALITY New Zealand and the Motel Association of New Zealand (MANZ) have made great strides in coming together to form an exciting new partnership between the two associations.

Lloyd and Debbie Stone from Hamilton-based, award winning Arena Court Motor Lodge are thrilled to see this progress made.

On Monday relevant parties where updated on branch related timings and projects to help keep everyone informed of the programme.

HOSPITALITY New Zealand represents 2,400 hospitality businesses while the Motel Association of New Zealand (MANZ) is the trade body for the New Zealand motel industry.

Lloyd Stone, co-owner of Hamilton’s Arena Court Motel as well as Waikato Motel Association Vice President, recognised that the merger would have some great opportunities.

“We have been in the hospitality industry for a number of years and are part of the Motel Association so we look forward to what the merger could offer our motel (Arena Motor Lodge),” says Lloyd.

This is also the final week of stage one in the amalgamation process with stage two starting this Monday. During stage two, MANZ members will start to get information about services and support available over the coming months.

The stages timeline will be:

Now until November 20th it will be business as usual
November 23rd to mid-January will be the progressive role out of support, the introduction of the Accommodation NZ brand and a general “morph” of services.
From mid-January onward, Hospitality NZ, in conjunction with Accommodation NZ, will offer members full access to all combined services and products.

“If it all goes according to the projected timelines, the merger could create one accommodation sector body that includes all forms of accommodation and puts them all under one umbrella.”  says Lloyd.

Arena Court Motel, which is situated at 21 Willoughby St, Hamilton is one of Hamilton’s newest motels. At Arena Court Motel all rooms are double-glazed and well appointed and also include air conditioning, cooking facilities, fridge and tea and coffee making facilities, with scrumptious breakfasts available, and a chargeback facility with many local restaurants.
