Motorcorp New Zealand has announced the appointment of a new national manager for Volvo.

Coby Duggan will be responsible for overseeing the brand’s strategic growth in the New Zealand market.

Duggan says he’s excited to be working with Volvo as it enjoys a period of unprecedented success in the New Zealand market.

“Volvo has had it’s biggest year of sales globally and, locally - which shows consumers understand the benefits of purchasing cars which provide technology that both enhances the driving experience, and offers the highest levels of passenger and pedestrian safety.

“Increasingly consumers are looking for greater technological benefits in their vehicles and Volvo is seen as an intelligent choice,” he says.

Duggan says part of his role will be to continue the on-going education of New Zealand consumers as modern cars continue to evolve.

“As we get closer and closer to autonomous driving there is a greater need for us to be educating consumers on this new way of driving and for us to constantly upskill our customers on the evolution and addition of new features.”

Duggan has previously worked in senior roles across a wide range of automotive brands including Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, and Skoda.

Motorcorp general manager Steve Kenchington says the appointment of Duggan comes at an exciting time in the brand’s local development.

“Within the next three years Volvo will release another 10 new models into this market - we are pleased to have Coby’s expertise as the brand further increases its market share in New Zealand,” he says.
