Waikato Men's Fashion Retailer ELVION is Branching Out

Waikato men are set to become the sharpest dressers in the country with the news that Hamilton fashion retailer ELVION has launched a line of tailored suits, blazers, business shirts and trousers.

Although ELVION is an online-only store, supplying high quality men’s fashion accessories to customers nationwide, the tailored suit line will see ELVION’s tailors appearing in customers’ homes to measure and fit the suits. 

ELVION officially launched in December 2015 with a range of handmade silk ties, leather wallets, belts and combos, which have proven to be very popular among businessmen of all ages.

Director Wian Van Wyk says he always aimed to move towards tailored suits, as he believes a properly fitted suit has a positive effect on the psychology and success of a man.

“A tailor made suit is an expression of who you are,” says Mr Van Wyk. “A man in a properly fitted suit can face the world with confidence.”

“If you’re going out into the world to succeed, if people are going to take you seriously, you need a suit that fits you properly and moves with you in the right way.”  

Mr Van Wyk says his vision for ELVION is to help men succeed in the business world and in the community by providing them with quality, handmade and custom made suits and accessories.

“Already most of the products we have for sale are handmade and offer some level of customisation,” says Mr Van Wyk. 

“All our products are crafted from quality materials such as 100 percent pure silk and 100 percent pure leather [as opposed to genuine leather, which can be made up of several layers of low quality leather bonded together].”

Mr Van Wyk says community and social giving are as important to ELVION as the quality and integrity of the products he supplies to his customers. ELVION donates five percent of all profits to the Child Cancer Foundation.

“Quality is not achieved through bureaucracy and strictly enforced rules,” says Wian Van Wyk, “but by being passionate about what we do and conveying this passion to the community.”
