There are a mind-boggling amount of smartphones being released, and it's easy to get confused by the sheer volume of choice there is out there. However, many of the bigger names in the smartphone arena are very expensive, some costing as much as a new laptop or even desktop.

However, there are now a lot of Chinese Brands out there, looking to make a splash in International markets, and they are really shaking things up by offering high spec devices, at very low prices. An example of some of the upcoming smartphones out of China:

Huawei P9:

Huawei's flagship phone, the P9, boasts a gorgeous 5.2 inch full HD display, and a really unique dual lense set up for its camera. It's capable of taking professional quality images, and packs a huge 3,000 mAh battery, for all day usage. Even the front camera is high spec – 8MPS of selfie photos! The current price in the NZ market for Huawei P9 with 32 GB storage is $848 according to PriceMe Consumer.

Oneplus 3:

When the original Oneplus One launched, it created a serious stir in the smartphone market. The 2nd offering, the Oneplus Two built upon this momentum and broke all manner of records for pre-booking numbers. The Oneplus 3 will be no different. Oneplus have also guaranteed that the first 30,000 ordered will ship with a free VR headset, which is bound to create a scramble to get in the queue early!

Meizu 3 Note:

The Meizu 3 Note offers a massive 5.5 inch Full HD screen, a fantastic 13MP camera, and best of all, a ridiculously huge, 4,100mAh battery. This phone is on par with a lot of the bigger names in the smartphone market, yet costs less than half their price – literally. This is definitely one to look out for this winter.

Oppo R9:

More phablet than phone, the Oppo R9 has a colossal 6 inches of screen real estate, a 16MP camera to ensure that those pictures look great on that huge display, and a battery 4,120mAh in size, ensuring you won't run out of juice – even with heavy use. PriceMe Consumer expects a local price of around $700.

Those are just some of the many smartphones to look out for, coming out of China this winter.
