Hamilton’s 4Guys Autobarn has been New Zealand’s home for American Special Vehicles for more than 20 years.
American trucks have been a regular product which 4Guys Autobarn has been supplying to New Zealand customers over that time. The likes of Dodge Ram, Chevrolet Silverado, Ford F250 and GMC Denali have found their way onto New Zealand roads with industry-leading Right Hand Drive Conversions.
Also known as re-engineering or re-manufacturing, a Right Hand Drive Conversion can take several weeks and involve serious technology to produce factory-quality results with a reliable and robust finish. 4Guys Autobarn has worked in conjunction with Eagle Automotive, who pioneered the technology. This expertise has allowed offshore rivals to borrow the technology to produce similar results for American Imports in Australia.
4Guys Autobarn’s CEO Monte Wells says although this technology is a genuine New Zealand product, it is now being copied by overseas companies.
“Some competitors have surfaced,” says Mr Wells, “who focus only on particular makes of American trucks with conversions being completed in Australia using borrowed technology which makes them appear similar to the product we have been producing here for decades”.
“The ability to produce top results across all the major truck brands and models with longevity to back it up, gives our trucks a bit more authenticity and credibility that we've developed with our customers over time,” he says.
4Guys Autobarn’s relationship with the USA has been developed extensively over the years, bringing in the latest and greatest America has to offer.
Earlier this year 4Guys brought the first Nissan Titan XD V8 Turbo diesel into New Zealand, as well as the first Dodge Hellcat, Corvette C7R and other major brands in previous years.
4Guys Autobarn is one of New Zealand’s largest sales yards, with a stock of more than 400 quality vehicles, including American muscle, Sports cars, Hatchbacks, Sedans, Wagons, SUVs, 4x4s and Utes, boats and campers.
