A recent article published in The Business  section of the NZ Herald was headed, “Born to lead? Don’t bet on it”, examining the idea that there is real value in being a good leader, but it seldom comes naturally, and illucidating the fact that New Zealand companies spend as much as $220 million a year boosting leadership potential, but many are sceptical about the results.

There seems to be an innate feeling that once you’re a leader and you have that positional power, that’s it, you’re in the role, however the idea of a ‘natural born leader’ is essentially a myth. For many leadership organisations there seems to be a focus on targets and results, without much attention being paid to the softer side of business.

Debra Chantry at Ventell Business Coaching has recently become certified in Evolved Leadership, which works towards helping people to produce more results in their lives and to see the real value in being a fantastic leader. This course is for those who are ready to not only experience the transformation that they have always wanted in all areas of their life, but who are dedicated to driving leadership change.

Debra at Ventell is New Zealand’s leading light in business coaching and marketing, utilising Ventell’s core philosophy of turning business passion into business excellence. Debra helps owners who are passionate about their business, but who have got bogged down in fighting fires, to recognise their passion, turn it into excellent business practices and return to doing what they are passionate about. They do this through a mixture of Governance, Strategy, Creativity and Marketing to create sustainable Results

As the NZ Herald article goes on to say, “Organisations are spending up to four times more than others on leadership training, a significant cost in time and money, but are proving that valuing and investing in staff brings business benefits”, and by taking on a business coach like Debra, businesses will be going a long way towards achieving these aims.
