There are so many events happening in Hamilton over the next few weeks, it’s hard to know which to choose!
It’s not hard to choose where to stay, however. Aspen Manor Motel, on Grey Street in Hamilton East, is conveniently located within easy walking, driving or commuting distance to everything Hamilton has to offer.
Lornae Lowe, who co-owns Aspen Manor Motel with her husband Simon, says Hamilton is a mecca for all kinds of entertainment, through every season and for every kind of traveller.
“Now that we’re starting to come out of the winter season,” says Lornae, “there will be all sorts of spring activities that will be great for visitors, especially at the Hamilton Gardens where the spring blossoms have started blooming and events are underway, as they have been all winter.”
Some of the exciting and unique activities at the Hamilton Gardens which will be coming up in September include events for old and young.
Guided tours of the gardens operate every day at 11:00 in the morning. The tours cost $15 per person and children under five are free.
Waikato Horticultural Society is offering a Help Growing Workshop at the gardens on 22 September. Dave Jordan from The Hemp Farm in Te Pahu will talk about and give advice on growing hemp and will have products made with organic hemp seed oil for sale.
On Sunday 25 September, the Hamilton Caledonian Pipe Band will perform on the Hamilton Gardens Round Lawn from midday to 1pm. The following weekend the band will play elsewhere in the gardens, weather permitting.
“That’s the great thing about Hamilton,” says Lornae. “There’s always something going on, either at the gardens or elsewhere around the city – and often the events are free or cost very little.”
Hamilton Gardens is an easy three-minute drive from Aspen Manor Motel or ask your friendly hosts Simon and Lornae about the easily accessible public transport.
