Voltex Electrical is Proud to Support the Rapid Relief Team

Voltex Electrical, New Zealand’s leading supplier of electrical products, is a company with a passion for giving back to the community to which they, and their customers, belong.

Voltex supports a number of community charities nationally as well as giving charitable support on an international level.

One cause the team at Voltex is passionate about is RRT, the Rapid Relief Team.  RRT is a volunteer, not-for-profit organization, which supports local communities in times of need.  RRT achieves this by providing quality catering and refreshments, for example to emergency service personnel, homeless missions, or at events such as Special Children’s Christmas Party, Tuff Guys & Gals Challenge – fundraising for Cure Kids and many others similar events.

“Voltex donates a lot of time and resource to RRT, as we believe in supporting worthy charitable organisations to help society,” says Douglas Waite, Voltex’s Marketing and Business Development Manager.

“Rapid Relief Teams need to be ready to jump into action if disaster strikes, whether it’s from flood, fire, a severe storm or a major accident,” says Mr Waite.   “If there’s anything that impacts the community, RRT volunteers will be there with food and refreshments.”

In March this year, Voltex team members Duncan, Billy, Tony and Emily helped RRT provide refreshments to participants of the Relay For Life event in Hamilton, a fund raiser for the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Cancer Society where cancer survivors and their supporters keep a baton moving around a track for 12 hours to celebrate survivors and remember loved ones lost to cancer.

The Voltex team was also there when RRT provided support for the 2015 Mystery Creek Special Children’s Christmas Party for disabled and disadvantaged children.

“If there’s ever a disaster that affects our community, RRT will be there to offer support and reduce suffering,” says Mr Waite.  “RRT is an organisation which Voltex is definitely proud to support.”
