Auckland City Toyota are proud to continue supporting Pink for a Day, The New Zealand Breast cancer foundation’s annual appeal, and on Friday the 21st of October Auckland City Toyota dressed up to show their support and raise awareness for a great cause.

As an organisation Auckland City Toyota believe they have a responsibility to the people within our communities, and they feel that to help raise money and awareness is the least they can do to show their appreciation.

All three of Auckland City Toyota branches, including the service centres, were excited to get behind the cause. Pink For a Day ® is an opportunity for workplaces across New Zealand to go pink any day in October as part of Breast Cancer Month. Pink For a Day ® isn’t just an excuse to break out the pink tutu and eat pink cupcakes! It’s also a platform to make a difference on social issues, build staff engagement and enhance your reputation in the communities in which you operate.

Eight women a day are diagnosed with breast cancer in New Zealand; she could be your colleague, mother, sister, daughter or friend.   The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation is a not-for-profit charitable trust and is reliant on grants and donations from the New Zealand public including:

• Community events held nationwide

• NZBCF fundraising initiatives including Pink Ribbon Breakfast and the Pink Ribbon Street Appeal

• Trusts and Foundations

• Corporate Partners

NZBCF Mission

“Our mission is to prevent New Zealanders developing and dying of breast cancer and to support patients. We do this through raising awareness for early detection, funding medical research, training and equipment; supporting patients with our helpline, counselling and rehabilitation; and advocating to the government for world-class treatments and care.

“Our symbol is the ‘pink ribbon’, the international symbol of breast cancer and trademarked to the NZBCF in New Zealand. October is International Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Foundation’s major fundraising event. The month is supported by an extensive multi-media awareness campaign, education programme, community fundraising events and the Pink Ribbon Street Appeal.”

Through their efforts Auckland City Toyota hope they have helped engage the community and generate a stronger commitment from their staff and clients about the importance of breast cancer awareness.
