B-K's Palmerston North Motor Lodge Sees Success at the Superstocks

The New Zealand Superstock Championship was held in Palmerston North on the weekend of 2 January 2017, with Joblin Motorsport, sponsored by B-K's Palmerston North Motor Lodge, placing well.
Gail and Kelvin Mattock of B-K's Palmerston North Motor Lodge were in attendance to watch their sponsored team.
“Our sponsored guys did us proud on Friday, with our defending champion Shane Harwood qualifying with ease, along with brothers Simon Scott and Adam,” said Gail.
The annually contested championship for Superstocks is held at the Robertson Holden International Speedway, right across the road from B-K's Palmerston North Motor Lodge.
Joblin Motorsport is a three-car Superstock racing team based in Palmerston North, consisting of the three Joblin brothers, Simon, Adam and Scott.
In a thrilling Championship race, two of the Joblin brothers made placings, with Simon placed first and Adam third. Jordan Dare, also from Palmerston North, was second.
“This is the first time there have been two people from the same family on the podium at the New Zealand Superstock Champs,” says Gail, “and the second time Simon has won it, in 2007 and now 2017.”
It was the sixth time all three places have gone to cars from Palmerston North.
“The trophies were Magnificent and the guys got a body in gold, silver and bronze respectively.”
B-K's Palmerston North Motor Lodge is often full of motorsport enthusiasts and the weekend of the Superstock Champs was no different, with five New Zealand number ones staying at the motel.
B-K's Palmerston North Motor Lodge provides sponsorship to a number of classes throughout the community, including Simon, Scott and Adam Joblin of Joblin Motorsport, Tony Uhlenberg and Shane Harwood.
The New Zealand Superstock Championships are held on a rotating track schedule, with the first race held at Palmerston North 51 years ago.
