Bicycle Nelson Bays Commences Upcycle

Cycle Advocates Network member, Bicycle Nelson Bays (BNB) is pleased to announce their new initiative for the Nelson and Tasman regions; Upcycle!
BNB spokesperson, Stephen White, says “thanks to funding from NMDHB and support from both Nelson and Tasman Councils, Upcycle! will start on Friday morning, 23rd February, initially in Nelson and Stoke, possibly being extended to Richmond in Aprilâ€Â.
Mr White says “it is to be celebrated when advocates, councils and health board are moving together by supporting active transportation which addresses wider issues such as health, obesity and general well-being, as well as traffic congestionâ€Â.
Mr White says “the first participants are graduates of the Lifecycle courses from Nelson and Richmond, but the group will soon be open to the wider publicâ€Â. “The focus of Upcycle!â€Â, he says, “is to boost the confidence of cyclists with on-road riding, intersections and roundabouts, and extend the distances people are able to ride, promoting regular cycle use for transportation and healthâ€Â.
