Backdoor Opens New Store in Christchurch

Backdoor has new spring apparel on brands such as ilabb, RPM, Santa Cruz and more. They are also having their final winter sale on all apparel, which includes up to 50% off in store and online. The spring surfboard sale has surfboards from $749, available online and in store.

Backdoor has now opened a new store at Unit 3, 1105 Ferry Road, Ferrymead, Christchurch. Along with other stores in Auckland, Palmerston North, Wanganui, Wellington, Napier, Havelock North, Mount Maunganui, Papamoa, Matamata, Rotorua and Hamilton, the company is looking at dominating the surf, skate, and streetwear market.   Backdoor accepts credit cards and laybuy. Gift vouchers are also compatible with their checkout facilities.  They also facilitate custom orders on surfboards, with most being delivered within 8 to 12 weeks depending on availability and shipment schedule.

The online store has huge range of surfboards, wetsuits and skate hardware. The company has come a long way from small beginnings in Hamilton. In 1988, Geoff "Hutch" Hutchison purchased a small surf shop down the back of an alleyway in Victoria St, Hamilton. Having just taken a redundancy from NZ Rail, he decided to follow his passion of surfing and purchased the business named after Backdoor Pipe, a famous surf break on Hawaii's North Shore.  Hutch was joined by his brother-in-law, Cameron Cutmore, in 1997 and a second store was opened. The rest is history – now with 15 stores across the North Island, Hutch and Cam are still hard at work along with a team of the originals, making sure that everything in store and online is true to their authentic roots.
