Low East of Banks Peninsula moving quickly southeast. Severe Westerly gales South of Hastings
to about Castlepoint easing late Tuesday evening.
The vigorous low which brought stormy weather over much of central
New Zealand today now lies east of Banks Peninsula and is moving
quickly southeast. Expect westerlies to gale force gusts around 130
km/h south of Hastings to about CastlePoint until about 11pm Tuesday.
These winds are capable of causing damage to trees, power lines and
insecure roofs and driving conditions are likely to be hazardous.
