Tararua Kids Rocket Into Reading

Children have been entertained and staff kept busy during this year’s summer reading programme.

While 2-13 year olds ‘Rocketed Into Reading’, 11-18 year olds enjoyed the ‘Extreme Read’ programme.

In Dannevirke 111 children completed the ‘Rocket’ programme activities which included entertainment from storytellers, craft sessions, and a finale party.

“Extreme reading’ participants enjoyed a scavenger hunt, gym session, drama, hair care tuition, and a swim at the Wai Splash community pool. Twenty nine finished the programme.

Both programmes were “heaps of fun” and very well received, Dannevirke senior librarian Nikki Price said.
