Successful thoroughbred farm Highview Stud will stage a Deplenishing Sale of weanlings, yearlings, two-year-olds, broodmares and racehorses at its Hamilton property on Sunday 16 March.

Set to be conducted by New Zealand Bloodstock Limited, the Sale reflects a change of direction for Highview Stud , but not an end to Brent & Lou Gillovic's bloodstock industry involvement.

Brent Gillovic explained, "We have decided to move to a more boutique-style operation at Highview, and will not stand stallions anymore. The result is that there is no longer a need for the large number of mares currently on the property, some of which are partnership property and being dispersed for that reason."

"The stallions currently resident will be relocated but in all other respects it will be business as usual at Highview, with the focus on rebuilding a top quality broodmare band and getting back to a more manageable sized operation."

Highview Stud currently enjoys a business association with the Hong Kong Breeders Club that uses the Highview property to agist the mares owned by the Club's members. Highview will remain the New Zealand base for the Hong Kong Breeders Club who will market its stock under the banner of 'Bauhinia Farm'. As part of the development strategy for the farm Highview will also become a high-end lifestyle vacation destination for the Club's members.

The 91 entries in the Sale include 28 weanlings, 20 yearlings, 7 racehorses and 36 broodmares. Amongst the selection are weanlings and yearlings by Align, Danroad, Johar, Kashani and San Luis.

The broodmares include Group 3 winner Senorita Dane (by Senor Pete) in foal to O'Reilly; Group 3 winning Snaadee mare Snadame, dam of stakeswinner Senorita Dane, and in foal to Fast 'n Famous; third top two-year-old filly of her year Snow Reason, dam of stakes performer Realign and in foal to Duelled; the Last Tycoon mare Brindillemousse, daughter of Group 1 Australasian Oaks winner Gatherneaux; dual winning Rory's Jester mare Abenezra, in foal to Towkay; and Zabeel mare Creole.

The Sale will be conducted at Highview Stud on 16 March from 1pm with an upset price of $1,000 on every lot offered.
