Green Party MP Metiria Turei, is this weekend to tackle the second leg of her gruelling schedule of completing seven triathlons and one half marathon this summer.

This Sunday, Mrs Turei, will take part in the MoreFM Triwoman, being held at QEII Park, Christchurch.

“I sometimes wonder if I have bitten off more than I can chew, but I am determined to give it a go. My primary goal is not to drown during the swim section and, that achieved, then to finish. As long as I am somewhere in the bottom third, I will be delighted,” she says.

Mrs Turei will be riding an ‘urban utility’ bicycle loaned from Addington-based Urban Bicycles, an organisation committed to increasing the use of this green-friendly method of transport by businesses, local councils and the public within cities and urban areas.

Mrs Turei will also be wearing a Green-branded outfit, to prove that no only to the Greens talk the talk, but they also walk the walk.
