A donation to the Arohanui Hospice could see two people enjoying the ASB Women’s International Tennis Tournament next January.

One of the sponsors of this Sunday’s Wine, Women and Song featuring Dame Malvina Major, ASB Bank, wants as many people as possible to support this year’s charity, the Arohanui Hospice, and is organising its own fundraising.

Its initiative requires members of the public to make a donation to the ASB Bank in the Square this week and next and at Wine, Women and Song on March 2 itself.

By leaving a name and address together with their donation, people will enter a draw for two tickets to the tournament on January 5, 2009, plus two return flights to Auckland and accommodation.

ASB staff will move among the crowd at Wine, Women and Song at Caccia Birch with buckets and entry forms to gather as much money as possible for the hospice.

ASB Manager, Danielle Moynihan, personally experienced the hospice recently when caring for her dying mother and she was impressed with the compassion and quality of care. As a result the bank is supporting both the event and the charity.

Further funding for Arohanui Hospice will come from wine sales at Caccia Birch. Terrace End Rotary will be selling wine at the grounds and donating proceeds to the hospice as their gesture to the event and the charity.

Wine, Women and Song featuring Dame Malvina Major and Jono Naylor with supporting artists and accompanied by Guy Donaldson is presented by Guardian Trust in association with ASB, gen-I, Novotel, McMillan and Lockwood, The Breeze, Manawatu Business Park, Julia Wallace Retirement Village, The Tribune, St John and Stephen Parsons House of Travel.

Tickets (Adults $30), (Senior Citizens/Students $25) can be purchased from the Regent On Broadway or other TicketDirect outlets. Gate sales available.
