A single vehicle crash occured on the State Highway near Culverden - North Canterbury at 03.30a.m on 21/03/08.

A vehicle ran off the road and hit a bank.

A male person has been taken to Christchurch Hospital in a serious condition.

Enquiries are continuing at the scene.

The road is down to one lane.
