DANNEVIRKE

Eleven new jobs at the Dannevirke former Feltex plant now owned by Godfrey Hirst New Zealand Limited should be taken up by June, says the company’s general manager Tania Pauling.

She expected to know this week who would fill the jobs from the closed plants in Foxton and Feilding.

The Dannevirke plant which contains a dyehouse had been performing very well and this was a factor in the company’s decision to expand there, Ms Pauling said.

“I look forward to Dannevirke going from strength to strength,” she said.

Tararua mayor Maureen Reynolds said she regretted the impact of plant closures on the two towns but added that the introduction of 11 new jobs was good news for Dannevirke.
