Youth reseach underway in Turangi

Council’s community support team is working with Turangi schools and agencies to kick off a research project looking at youth alcohol-related incidents. 

 

From the information collected, an action plan will be put into place to address some of the issues highlighted by the findings.

 

Tongariro School has indicated they are prepared to support the project with students and parents participating in the surveys. Local community agencies and young people who are in the target age group (12 – 18 years) will also be contacted to assist with the project.

 

This project will be addressing one of the key actions that the Turangi Safer Community Council has in its 2008 action plan. They will assist the community support team in carrying out this project.
