Update to Boating & Shipping warning

The Navigation Safety Manager for Environment Canterbury authorized a sea and air search for the reported shipping container seen off the Scarborough heads yesterday.

The sea and air search were unable to locate the container and it is believed that it has sunk. The air search was conducted out to five kilometers from shore by a fixed wing aircraft.

Lyttelton Port Authority, Marine Operations Centre and Rescue Coordination Centre have been advised.
