Vandalism prompts safety measures

Vandals putting themselves at risk of injury have prompted Papakura District Council to develop safety countermeasures for the district’s street lights.

Recent damage to walkway lights between Marne Road and Ron Keat Drive has forced Council contractors to replace and upgrade mesh guards on the lights.

The Council is asking residents who see people damaging or tagging lights to immediately report the incident to Police.
