Hi there everyone,

It’s been a while since I checked in, so here’s a run down of my trip to Japan and what’s been going on…. Before I left I did a bit of riding but the weather in Belgium has been terrible - I guess we got spoilt in April and got used to it to soon!

Anyway I packed my bags and jetted off to the ‘Land of the rising sun’ last Tuesday. I had some press stuff planned on arrival with Yamaha. First I met up with Lawrence and Leon from Yamaha Europe and then Marc my teammate and Tony Cairoli. We went to Yamaha head office in Tokyo and did some TV, press, then a local news paper interviews. From there we took the bullet train to Hamamatsu where the Yamaha factory is based. That night us riders had a dinner with all the European press. It was a traditional Japanese meal Click here to check out the pics, I’m not so keen on the food….. Thursday we visited the Yamaha plaza which has their museum and display bikes. When we arrived at the factory all the staff were standing outside clapping there hands and holding a welcome to Yamaha banner. It was a really nice touch and I felt welcome straight away! After the plaza we visited the production line. It was cool to see and great for me as a Yamaha rider to see how much work goes into my bike from behind the scenes.

That night we took the bullet train up to Sendai city were the Sugo race track is situated and I started to get a race face on. As for the race I wasn’t so happy with my riding. I struggled to find my rhythm and I have some work to do leading up to the next races.

I’m home now doing a little training trying to get over the jet lag. 4am I was wide awake and trust me that’s not like me! Later this week I leave to Italy for some training and Saturday I’m visiting Mr. Edwards and Rossi at moto GP I’m looking forward to it! That’s it for now,

Cheers,

JC.
