Council and community expo art competition - calling for entries

Taupo District Council are inviting local artists to submit artwork for display at the Council and Community Expo ‘Our Neighbourhood, Our Future’ being held from 14 – 16 August. Two winners will each receive a $500 cash prize, kindly sponsored by Mighty River Power.
A panel of judges will evaluate entries on the interpretation of the theme ‘Our Neighbourhood, Our Future’. Composition and originality will also be considered.
There are two categories for artists:
Open: for artists of any age and
Youth: any artist 18 years of age or under.
Artworks received will be exhibited at the Council and Community Expo at the Great Lake Centre and the winners will be recognised at the Expo opening event on 14 August 2008. Copies of the highly commended artwork will be on display at Taupo District Council offices and the winning artwork in the open category will be featured in Towards 2019 - Taupo District's ten year plan.

The Council and Community Expo, ‘Our Neighbourhood, Our Future’ is being run by Council in conjunction with local community groups to gather the community’s ideas, dreams and aspirations for the District, to incorporate into the ten year plan.
