Vehicles stuck in snow

Police advise motorists stuck on Mt Ruapehu / Whakapaap ski field to remain in their vehicles and wait for Ski field staff to assist them off the mountain in their vehicles.

 Whakapapa staff rpt approx 100 vehciles are still on the mountain but are working from carpark to carpark to get every vehcile off the mountain.

For their own safety motorists need to take direction from ski staff and to expect delays as they are taking 5 vehicles off the mountain at a time
