Heavy rainfall overnight has put continued pressure on the city's storm and wastewater network today.

Many areas of the city have been affected, with flooding causing the closure of Aberdeen School in Frankton. All flooding issues are being responded to by Council staff as they arise.

Water & Waste Services manager Shaun Hodson says that saturated ground conditions will continue to force water into the network and potentially create floods even though the amount of rainfall has subsided.

"Council teams continue to check pressure points and proactively mitigate against flooding. Areas of focus are manholes and pumping stations. Residents should report any sudden or new overflow to Council on 838 6699."
