One dead in Invercargill crash

INVERCARGILL

A 53 year old, Lenore Jean CARR died in a crash involving two motor vehicles at the intersection of St Andrew Street and Queens Drive Invercargill at 3.30am on the 14 September 2008.

The deceased was the sole occupant in the silver 1995 Mitsubishi FTO. She died on the arrival of emergency services.

The second vehicle involved was a blue 1994 Nissan Cefiro driven by a 23 year old female was also of Invercargill. She was the sole occupant and was not injured.

Both vehicles had been travelling west along St Andrew Street prior to the crash and had lost control near the intersection.

The vehicles have travelled through the intersection, across Queens Drive and collided with a tree and light pole on the opposite side of the road boarding Queens Park.

A section of Queens Drive and St Andrew Street were closed to allow Police Serious crash Unit to investigate the scene. The road is now open.

Police would still like to here from anyone who may have witnessed the crash or the two vehicles on Westerly on St Andrew Street prior to the crash.
