General Manager resigns from Destination Lake Taupo

Destination Lake Taupo General Manager, Scott Lee has announced his resignation.

Mr Lee says his decision was a difficult one but with the Lake Taupo Tourism Advisory Board currently going through a transitional period this seems like the right time to move on and allow these issues to be resolved.

He says, “In the many years I have been involved in tourism I have not seen such an upheaval in the industry and Taupo District is also going through some major changes including the changes to the Board and the current downturn in visitor numbers in Taupo and across the country.”

He says “its time for a change in direction now is the perfect time to allow new blood to come in and lead Destination Lake Taupo into a new phase in its development. It is difficult but I think it’s the right decision.”

Mr Lee says he will continue to support the industry wherever possible.
