Three weddings, 15 years of marriage combined - and four children later - The Edge radio station celebrates the anniversaries of their three successful ‘blind’ weddings.

Two Strangers and a Wedding began in 1999 with Paula and Zane Nicholl, New Zealand’s first radio wedding couple who celebrate their ninth wedding anniversary today, and have two boys. Next to step up to the aisle were Steve and Kersha Veix who will have been married for five years on 30th October and have a boy and a girl. The most recent couple to the aisle – Paul and Chantelle Court - have just celebrated their first anniversary last week and are happily settled in Christchurch.

It was a rocky ride to the alter for Paul and Chantelle. Not only did Chantelle have to choose between two grooms on the day of her wedding, she had to also cope with a less-than-impressed family in Canada! (Check out 20/20’s latest report – Two’s Company – online at www.tvnz.co.nz   )

Jay-Jay Feeney from The Edge Morning Madhouse said, “Too be honest, we didn't think Paul and Chantelle would make it past the honeymoon! But we are stoked to hear that her family have finally accepted Paul and given their support.”

Leon Wratt, Programme Director of The Edge said, “Against the odds – and believe me there were plenty - the Strangers concept has proven to be a winner. Pick a couple of fantastic people who want to be together and let Cupid do the rest. Bring on the kids!”
