Olympic Medallist Nick Willis to Test Run Hawkes Bay Regional Sports Park Track

The Hawke’s Bay Regional Sports Park track this week received a Category Two Certification from the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF).

To mark this significant milestone, the Hawke’s Bay Regional Sports Park Trust has asked Olympic Games 1500m bronze medalist, Nick Willis, to cut the ribbon on the track.

The region’s athletic organisations and dignitaries have been invited to witness the ribbon cutting.

A group of promising young runners from around the region will also get an opportunity to run the track alongside Nick Willis.

The ceremony will take place at 9.30am on Thursday 16th October at the Hawke’s Bay Regional Sports Park, Percival Road, Hastings.
