Art in the park makes a return

Art in the Park, an exhibition put on by Taupo Artz, is returning to Taupo’s Roberts Reserve at Labour weekend.

 

Taupo Artz, part of the Active Arts organisation based in Redoubt Street, is very happy to be able to once again exhibit and sell their craft at the lakefront location.

 

All exhibitors are local and include painters, potters, weavers and spinners. New local artists are welcome but must obtain a permit from one of the Taupo Artz representatives present on the day.

 

Artist Hazel Georgantis says the exhibition is a great tourist attraction. “Tourists see us as they pass by; they stop and have a look at the exhibition, then wander over to one of the cafes for a coffee. The businesses along Roberts Street are very happy that we’re returning,” she says.

 

Art in the Park will continue every Saturday throughout summer (weather permitting). Check it out at Roberts Reserve this Saturday from 10am until 3pm.
