The Aotearoa People’s Network has Skype. What is Skype I hear you ask? Skype is a computer program that allows you to contact people all over the world through your computer for free. If you have a webcam, you can see and speak to the person at the other end (like a telephone - with pictures!). You can contact friends and family overseas and around the country and have a chat for Christmas. Did I mention – it’s free!

Want to learn how to Skype? Come and book in at the Dannevirke or Pahiatua Libraries. We are running one-hour tutorials and will show you all you need to know to get started.

The Summer Reading Programme is happening again over the school holidays. Registrations start the last week of November at all the libraries. Make sure you take your children to the library that week and book them in. Places go fast so don’t delay.

Did you realise that the library has more than just books on the shelves? You can also come in and read newspapers from all around the country. There are also magazines, DVD’s, jigsaws and audio books (books on cassette and CD). Go to your local library and see what is there - it will surprise you.

Listed below are some new titles added during the last month, interested? Pop in to your local library to check them out.

Night Of Thunder by Stephen Hunter

The Garden Of Evil by David Hewson

Book Of Lies by Brad Meltzer

One Silent Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Social Skills For Teenagers And Adults With Asperger Syndrome by Nancy Patrick
