Unison step up to support the Taupo Lakers

Last week Unison announced their sponsorship of Taupo’s Top Town team – the Unison Taupo Lakers.

The team of 12 representatives will be travelling to Christchurch on 1 December to compete against 15 other towns around the country in a variety of physical challenges. The Top Town competition will be filmed and aired on national television in early 2009.

Unison’s Customer Relations Manager, Danny Gough said “Unison - The Powerlines People is an important and proud member of the Taupo community and Top Town is a great community event. The team at Unison jumped at the chance to support Taupo’s team and to get involved with this iconic New Zealand competition.”

Councillor Mich’eal Downard, coach of the Unison Taupo Lakers said it was great to have Unison on board and that the team was coming together nicely, with energy to burn! “I am really pleased with how the team is gelling – everyone is full of enthusiasm and looking forward to the competition. We really want to represent Taupo well and our goal is to win and bring Top Town to Taupo for next year.”
