Beaten finalist from the 2008 ASB Classic, Aravane Rezai of France has moved into the main draw of next week’s event after the confirmation of the withdrawal of Ukrainian, Mariya Koryttseva with an ankle complaint.

Twenty-one-year-old Rezai ranked at 77 will try and go one better than her defeat to Lindsay Davenport in 2008.

She also made the semis of the tournament in Fes and had a career-best Grand Slam result at the Australian Open where she made the third round.

Also out of the 2009 ASB Classic featuring the Kia Motors Singles and Doubles is fourth seed and former champ, Katarina Srebotnik. The Slovene No1 has an ankle injury which may also keep her out of the Australian Open.
