Sudden Death Whangaroa Harbour

Kaeo Police advise an accident occurred this morning when a party of 7 persons went diving at the mouth of the Whangaroa Harbour this morning.

One of the males diving has failed to surface after the dive.

His companions have attempted to locate him and have done so after approx 15 minutes.

He has then been bought to the surface by the group where attempts where made to revive him , but to no avail.

The deceased is a male aged 45 years and is a local from the area.

His details will be released when Next of kin have been advised
