4 men rescued from Lake Wairarapa

A 111 call to police from an alert member of the public resulted in the rescue of 4 men from Lake Wairarapa this morning.
Police received the call at 0937 reporting that a jet boat was swamped and had sunk near Western Lake Rd. The occupants of the boat were participating in an annual goose cull on the lake.
Police alerted the Westpac helicopter, ambulance and local fire brigade for assistance.
The Westpac rescue helicopter attended from Wellington and winched the four males to safety.
All the males are well and recovering from their ordeal.
