Serious crash in Albany

4.05am - Police attended a single vehicle serious injury Crash on State Highway One, near the Greville Road Off-ramp, Albany. The vehicle was northbound when the driver lost control of his vehicle and collided into the crash barrier. The driver is a 26 year old male who was taken to Auckland hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries. The North bound lanes are likely to be closed until 0730 whilst the Serious Crash Unit are in attendance. Diversions are in place.
