NELSON

As a result of submissions made in an employment tribunal held in Nelson today concerning the alleged unfair dismissal of a Department of Conservation employee, proceedings against the Solicitor General, Dr David Collins, as a party to those proceedings have been withdrawn.
Both the complainant and the Solicitor-General were present at the hearing.
As a consequence, Police will no longer be investigating a parallel criminal complaint against Dr Collins of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
The employment tribunal hearing continues in relation to the substantive issues.
