More time for book lovers

Taupo Public Library will soon extend its opening hours by almost five hours a week to meet the needs of library users.

 

A survey of library patrons showed that longer opening hours would be welcomed so, from Monday 1 March, the library will open earlier and close later.

 

From Monday to Saturday, the library will be open from 9am to 5.30pm, with the exception of a late night on Thursday until 8.15pm and a 4pm closure on Saturdays.

 

Councillor Kathryn Uvhagen says the call for extended hours is evidence that the Taupo community is enjoying the recently renovated facility. “It’s fabulous to see the library in such demand. I hope booklovers, researchers and students all find the extended hours useful,” she says.
