Brilliant response to summer snaps comp

Judges had a hard time selecting one ‘Summer Snaps’ winner out of the 75 entries submitted, so two winners were selected to take away the top prizes.

Congratulations to Taupo locals Scott Holdsworth and Beau Tahau who both won ‘Kings of Leon’ concert tickets. Beau’s photo “Great Day at the Park” was a fun family photo taken at the Tongariro Domain, and Scott’s photo of his son enjoying a day at the Lake were singled out as they depicted typical happy, sunny scenes in the Taupo district.

Also sharing second equal place were locals Adam & Sharyn Wallis and Leanne Hall. They have won Huka Jet boat ride passes.

Commended prizes also went to Heather Mickelson, Matthew Vartan, Donna Harris and William Christie who each took away a family pass to the AC Baths.

Council’s Communication Manager Suzanne Takiwa was impressed with the number of quality photos that were submitted. “Thank you to everyone who took the time to send us through their favourite summer pic – we had a fabulous response. The entries portrayed a wide range of fun activities that people enjoy around the district which reminds us how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful and vibrant place.”

The objective of the competition was to capture images that showed the essence of summer in the Taupo district. The winning photos will be displayed on the Council website and also at the Taupo Events Centre. The ‘Summer Snaps’ competition is part of Taupo’s ‘Energy to Burn’ campaign.
