New Plymouth District Council is serving up the opportunity for large and small businesses to take on the food and beverage service at four key venues in the district.

The existing contracts for the TSB Showplace, TSB Bowl of Brooklands, TSB Stadium and Pukekura Park Tea House are coming to an end, so expressions of interest (EOI) are being called from operators.

“We’re giving food and beverage operators the chance to register their interest in the contract for one venue, a few venues or all four of them,” says Manager Property Assets Peter Handcock.

“There are synergies between some of the venues and there may well be advantages in having the same operator in more than one facility. That’s something we’ll find out through this EOI process.”

Given the significance of the venues, any operators interested in the contract would have to show they can manage and deliver a high quality product and service.

“We want to make sure that patrons at these venues come away with positive experiences – especially as these sites either host major events or are iconic destinations in their own right,” says Mr Handcock.

Advertising for EOIs begins this weekend, with expressions closing on 27 March. The chosen operators will begin working under the new contracts on 1 July.

“In the meantime, it will be business as usual at the venues,” says Mr Handcock.
